LISBON — The Lisbon Lions Club has donated $55,000 to the Lepper Library of Lisbon for the stained-glass window restoration project. The money was part of a bequeath to the Lions Club by Doris M. Eells.

Eells was a very active member of the Lisbon community and passed away in 2009. She left a bequeath to the Lisbon Lions Club, they have donated part of that bequeath to the Lepper Library in memory of her.

The Lepper Library is in the middle of a project to restore the original stained-glass windows in the library. This donation will make it possible to complete the project.

Director Marcy Kaiser said, “we are so grateful to the Lions Club for the donation and stepping in to help complete the important work to help restore these windows.”

The restoration of the windows not only includes the stained-glass but also the addition of new outside coverings and wood trim repair. It is recommended that these repairs are completed every 75 years and it has been over 125 years, so they are in much need of cleaning and re-leading.

Carrying out this project is Studio Arts and Glass of North Canton. They have been restoring stained-glass windows for over 35 years.

Kaiser said, “we are lucky to have such qualified experts this close.”

The project is estimated to be completed mid-2026.
