Transportation addition on track at CCCTC
LISBON — A new transportation addition for the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center is moving forward on schedule.
During the December Board of Education meeting CCCTC Superintendent Jeremy Corbisello provided an update on the expansion project.
He said that meetings are being held bi-weekly regarding the project which is “moving along nicely despite the cold weather.”
The project will create a larger facility for the Auto Technology and Auto Collision Repair programs.
The board previously awarded a contract to Stitle Construction for the work, which is estimated at roughly $6.52 million.
The current projected end date is Nov. 30 of 2026.
Also during the December board meeting, the board approved Patrick Mungi, RN, for part-time employment and the resignation of Emily Deack from full-time nursing administrator.
Deack was then approved as part-time nursing administrator.
The board also approved the hiring of Peter Beagle as part-time manufacturing coordinator.
A professional development stipend was approved for Mark Geisler for completing the Science of Reading as required by the State of Ohio.
The board also approved a change to the 2025-26 school calendar. Feb. 27 will change from a student instructional day to a waiver day. This is due to the Regional SkillsUSA competitions being held that day at the Cuyahoga County Career Center.
The board then approved entering into executive session to consider the investigation of complaints against an employee. No action was taken and no additional details were immediately made available.
The next meeting was set for 7 p.m. Jan. 20 in the Central Office Board Room.
