‘Mark Blevins: A Historical Perspective’ opens Tuesday
SALEM –The Chamber Gallery of Art is honored to present “Mark Blevins: A Historical Perspective,” a retrospective exhibition celebrating the artistic legacy of Mark Blevins (1985-2017).
The opening reception will be held fron 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6.
Blevins was a Midwest painter whose bold use of color, expressive mark-making, and inventive symbolism reflected his faith, his music, and his unique view of the world. His works have been exhibited throughout Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and the Greater Lansing area, and a permanent display remains in Brussels, Belgium.
This exhibition brings together a selection of paintings created between 2010-2017, showcasing the breadth of his experimentation–from layered abstractions to graphic silhouettes and atmospheric landscapes. The collection offers a moving tribute to an artist whose creative voice continues to resonate posthumously. The Chamber Gallery extends its gratitude to the Blevins family for its support in preserving and sharing his work.
