Parking ban issued for Salem city streets
SALEM — Street parking will be suspended in preparation for snow today.
City Service Safety Director Joe Cappuzzello said Friday that the city was declaring a snow emergency ahead of the impending severe winter weather conditions. In preparation for the coming snow, street parking will be suspended throughout the city until further notice beginning at 4 p.m. today to allow the street department to clear and treat roads. Vehicles which are not removed from the roadway will be towed.
In addition to the parking ban, city hall will be closed on Monday. The Salem Area Chamber of Commerce and the United Way of Northern Columbiana County, which share a building, and the Sustainable Opportunity Development Center also announced Friday that their offices would be closed Monday and that employees would be working remotely.
