LISBON — The workout possibilities for deputies with the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office just grew from a couple of treadmills to an entire gym of equipment, all donated.

“I’m very, very grateful to the donor for doing this for us,” Sheriff Brian McLaughlin said.

The equipment apparently came from a closed gym, Lisbon Fitness, and McLaughlin said the county commissioners were involved in the negotiations to get the donation of equipment from the anonymous donor.

He said the deputies are excited to have a place to work out like that. The equipment was moved out to the sheriff’s office and placed in an open space in the building, located on County Home Road.

The equipment includes weights and all types of machines, everything a normal gym would have.

According to McLaughlin, this is something that he’s been hoping to set up since he started as sheriff.

He also said this can help with the physical fitness and mental health of the deputies.

He was appreciative of all the assistance to move the equipment and for the donation itself.

Starting at $2.99/week.
