Lisbon woman charged in Smith Township stabbing
SMITH TOWNSHIP (WKBN) — A Lisbon woman is expected to be arraigned Thursday in Mahoning County Area Court in Sebring after she was charged early Monday with stabbing a man in the arm.
Ashley Hill-Birkhimer, 30, is in the Mahoning County jail on a charge of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, after she was arrested about 4:10 a.m. at a home in the 700 block of Lake Park Boulevard.
Reports said police were called for a stabbing, and when they arrived, they found a man bleeding from a deep puncture wound to the arm.
A witness told police he was in the kitchen talking to another man when Hill-Birkhimer came in saying “crazy stuff,” took a knife from the victim and stabbed him in the arm as they wrestled on the kitchen floor.
The witness disarmed her and then grabbed some towels to stop the bleeding, reports said.
An ambulance was called, but reports do not say if the victim was taken to a hospital to be treated.
