Salem City Spelling Bee postponed to Feb. 10
SALEM — The annual Salem City Spelling Bee has been postponed.
The annual Salem City Spelling Bee was originally slated to be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the High School Auditorium. However, that time slot was instead taken by the Junior High Spelling Bee, which had already been delayed twice. Junior High Principal Matt Ziegler said that with the district canceling school every day last week, the city bee has been postponed to next week at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
Each year the 10 highest ranked spellers in the Junior High School and Southeast Elementary spelling bees compete in the city bee, with the top six spellers representing the district at the Columbiana County Spelling Bee.
