Salem Main Moon temporarily shuttered due to health violations
SALEM — A Salem restaurant has been temporarily shut down for environmental health violations.
According to a press release issued by the health department, Environmental Health Director Charles Weatherly conducted a standard inspection of Main Moon on Second Street on Jan. 27. During that inspection Weatherly observed “a critical violation” and “imposed an immediate suspension of Main Moon’s food service license.”
In addition to that critical violation, the inspection also identified “other minor infractions” which must be addressed including the implementation of “improved cleaning practices.”
The release states that the suspension will remain in place until the facility addresses the violations and “is able to come into compliance.” It also states that the department “has offered guidance to the owners and staff at Main Moon and looks forward to a swift and safe reopening.”
