Leetonia council approves street resurfacing for 2026 season
LEETONIA — Travelers on village streets might notice a little bit of a smoother ride in 2026.
Leetonia Assistant Village Administrator Roman Ferry said council recently approved paving or chip and seal to be applied to one-third of the village’s streets.
Projected to cost in excess of $800,000, roads set for paving include Butcher, Chestnut, Washington, Oak and Ridge. The bulk of the money for the paving will come from a $560,000 Ohio Public Works Commission grant.
The village will pursue either bonds or a loan to pay for the remainder of the cost.
Council members also agreed to pay a county contractor to complete chip and seal on both Walnut and Cherry Fork streets.
Work will commence on Main Street as part of the village’s phase one of its streetscape project from yet another fund.
