Driver cited for fiery Lisbon crash

LISBON — The driver of a work truck involved in a fiery crash Monday in Lisbon was cited for failure to yield right-of-way and a woman who pulled the other driver from her vehicle may get village recognition.

According to a Lisbon Police report for the accident at 4:57 p.m., a Ford F-550 driven by Michael Alan Stouffer, 51, Fair Avenue, Salem, was attempting to turn left from South Lincoln Avenue onto West Lincoln Way and pulled out in front of an eastbound Toyota Highlander driven by Melissa Ieropoli, 63, U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, causing her vehicle to strike the work truck. Both vehicles caught fire.

Stouffer and a passenger in his vehicle escaped injury, and Ieropoli was checked out by North Star EMS for suspected minor injuries, but was not transported.

During the Lisbon Village Council meeting Tuesday night, Councilman Jerry Cox talked briefly about the accident and how Ieropoli was pulled from her vehicle, saying the woman who pulled her out should be given an award for her actions at the next meeting.

Police Chief Mike Abraham identified the woman as Mackenzie Lewis.

Starting at $2.99/week.
