East Liverpool business leader to address KSU graduates

EAST LIVERPOOL — Drew Cooper, president of True North ELO, LLC, will address Kent State Columbiana County graduates as the keynote speaker at commencement ceremonies Friday at Beaver Local High School.

Diplomas will be presented to graduates from the summer 2025, fall 2025 and spring 2026 semesters on the Kent State East Liverpool and Salem campuses.

True North is a national financial services firm providing bookkeeping, revenue cycle management and consulting solutions to small and mid-sized businesses across the country.

After graduating in 1992 from East Liverpool High School, Cooper attended the United States Naval Academy, where he earned his commission as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy. He served from 1996 to 2003, including deployments aboard guided missile ships and later as an instructor at the Naval Academy, concluding his service as a Lieutenant.

He also holds a master’s degree in engineering and industrial management from George Washington University.

As a native of East Liverpool, Cooper is deeply committed to investing in the future of his hometown. Aside from nearly a decade of leadership at True North, he is a co-founder and board member of the East Liverpool Community Partnership for Revitalization (ELCPR) and the LEAP Hub, an initiative dedicated to sparking entrepreneurship, creating opportunities and helping a new generation of leaders and builders thrive in the Ohio Valley.

Cooper and his wife, Tamar, have four children and are actively involved in youth development, mentorship and community life.
