On Friday, May 1, the classrooms of Christine Hames and Christy Temple were transformed into a charming Parisian scene for Leetonia School’s 5th Annual Poetry Cafe. Sporting black berets and performing for their invited “special guests,” first-grade students showcased their literacy skills through a series of heartfelt readings. The event featured three spirited Reader’s Theater performances: The Three Little Pigs, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Little Red Hen, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and Chicken Little.
