Salem celebrated the nation’s 250th anniversary Friday evening with a community picnic at Waterworth Memorial Park. The picnic featured multiple activities for kids including a mobile museum display, bounce houses, make-and-takes and crafts, and a hot dog and pie eating contest. The picnic also featured free food and drinks including popcorn, hot dogs courtesy of Fresh Mark, and Kast Iron Soda Works’s house root beer, and live music throughout the evening by Embers of Floyd.
