Leetonia school board approves administrative contracts
LEETONIA — The board of education approved new administrative contracts ahead of the upcoming 2026-2027 school year in its June 30 special meeting.
The board approved a new three-year limited administrative contract for Timothy Fairfield as 6-12 principal. The contract will begin with the 2026-2027 school year and has an annual salary of $97,784. The board also approved administrative contract modifications for the 2026-2027 school year for Special Education Director Shana Smith, Athletic Director Nick Sferra, and K-5 Principal Jackie Dunnigan. Treasurer Jennifer Coldsnow explained that their contracts don’t include a set salary, meaning that each year the board must approve them separately. Coldsnow said the approved modifications will see Smith earn $84,460, Sferra earn $87,780, and Dunnigan earn $95,790.
The board also approved several personnel and administrative items.
Personnel items approved included: the resignation of Jennifer Stock as Cook effective June 8; a salary advancement request for Christy Temple to MA+ 15 step 17; the appointment of Deidre Sadler as STEM Summer Learning Series Personnel Certificated Staff; a 3% salary increase for Ryan Clapsdale, Leisa Lorch, Kelly Rulli, and Dan Favazzo; and supplemental contracts for 6-12 ELA Department Chair Gretchen Hull, and Junior High Cheerleading Advisor Dorothy Herold.
Administrative items approved included: A $2,000 stipend for ICE Summer 2026; student, staff, and athletic handbooks for the 2026-2027 school year; permission for a drum corps practice to be held on district property on Aug. 6 ahead of their performance at the Canton Football Hall of Fame Drum and Bugle Corps show; a voice services agreement with ACCESS; membership in the Ohio Coalition for Equity & Adequacy of School Funding for the 2026-2027 school year; a Contract for Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments Services with Wills Mobility & Vision Services, LLC for the 2026-2027 school year; a contract with Easter Seals for interpreter services for the 2026-2027 school year; a service agreement with the Columbiana County Educational Service Center; and the adoption of a formal cybersecurity policy in accordance with state and federal regulations.
