COLUMBIANA -- A new maintenance supervisor has been hired for the Crestview Local School District.
The board of education approved giving Evan Schneider a two-year limited administrative contract and fringe benefit packages during the July regular meeting.
Schneider was one of many who applied for the position that was vacated by Jay Radman upon his recent retirement.
As part of his contract Schneider will make $73,343 a year as maintenance supervisor.
In other matters during the meeting the board approved setting school lunch prices at $3 for elementary, $3.10 for middle school, and $3.10 for high school, with reduced lunch prices set at 40 cents for all buildings.
Breakfast prices were set at $1.45 for all buildings, with reduced price set at 30 cents for all buildings.
Adult lunch was set at $4.10 and lunch was set at $2.
Other items approved included:
- Troy Duwe as high school varsity assistant football coach.
- Annette VanHorn as shared transportation services supervisor. She will receive $14,000 on the one-year contract.
- A contract with BAER auctioneers for the online auction of items remaining prior to demolition in the middle school and high school.
- Substitute salary schedules for the 2026-27 school year, with tutoring and home instruction set at $25; custodians, secretaries, cooks, servers, and technology assistants set at $15; and bus drivers set at $16.50
- A personnel assignment change for Ralph Gentry, from custodian to maintenance assistant, starting Aug. 1, 2026.
- Payment to Weston Hurd, LLP in the amount of $17,271, SchoolPass in the amount of $11,685 and PLTW (Project Lead the Way) in the amount of $3,200.
- The Virtual Learning Plan for the 2026-27 school year.
The next meeting was set for 5 p.m. Aug. 12.
