LISBON -- The new automotive addition at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center is scheduled to be completed by Dec. 8.
The CCCTC board of education was given an update on the project from the architect and contractor during the September meeting.
The Stitle Construction Company was previously awarded the contract for the $6.5 million project and Strollo Architects is responsible for the design.
The 20,000-square-foot addition will expand the career center's Auto Technology and Auto Collision Repair programs.
Following the update, the board and meeting guests were given a tour of the new addition.
Upon completion of the tour the board then heard from Adult Education Director Jenna Fox, Nursing Manager Ann Cope and Clinical Coordinator Tessa Kelly on the status of the programs in the adult education department.
According to minutes of the July board meeting there are 30 new students enrolled in the LPN to RN bridge program, 20 new students enrolled in the LPN program; 8 new students in the welding program and 10 new cadets enrolled in the police academy.
Also during the September meeting Career Center Superintendent Jeremy Corbisello talked about serving on the Business Advisory Council and said that Oct. 9 is the annual advisory and stakeholders meeting.
The board then approved:
-- Lisa Brimmer as a classified substitute for Building and Grounds at a rate of $13 per hour for the 2026-2027 school year.
-- Pauline Bennett as adult education instructor for the healthcare program.
-- Terry Leek and Katie Hutchison-Stowers as substitutes certified/licensed personnel for the 2026-27 school year.
-- Kristen Ours as Tobacco/Vaping Cessation Trainer for the 2026-2027 school year at a rate of $27 per hour.
-- William Oesch and Elizabeth Wright as Co-Public Relations Coordinators at the rate of $1,875 each and William Oesch as Staff Website/Bright Sign manager at a rate of $1,250 for the 2026-27 school year.
-- Supplemental contracts for several certified/licensed employees for the 2026-27 school year.
The next meeting was set for 7 p.m. Oct. 20.
