LISBON -- A man accused of holding a woman against her will, punching her multiple times in the face and holding a knife to her throat will face sentencing Nov. 2 after entering guilty pleas to three felony counts.
Jessy Paul Lee, 36, last known address Crawford Avenue, Wellsville, pleaded guilty to felonious assault, a second-degree felony, third-degree felony abduction and fourth-degree felony grand theft of a motor vehicle in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court. A first-degree felony charge of aggravated robbery will be dismissed.
According to the felony plea agreement, the state will be recommending a two-year prison term.
The incident occurred while they were traveling in a vehicle in East Liverpool on Feb. 17.
An affidavit filed in county Municipal Court said Lee had shown up at the woman's residence and asked for a ride, and once in the vehicle told her to drive where he told her to and not to do anything stupid. She claimed she needed gas and stopped at Sheetz in Calcutta and video surveillance showed him trying to stop her from going inside, then following her to the women's bathroom, forcing her out a side door and walking her back to the vehicle, threatening her if she didn't comply. After the assault, when she fled, he drove off with her vehicle.
