LISBON — The 7th District Court of Appeals recently upheld the conviction of Elvin EJ Tisdale, who was sentenced last year to life in prison without the possibility of parole for killing Brycen Douglas in 2021. The ruling said Elvin EJ Tisdale received a fair trial, with the appellate court overruling all six errors claimed by the defense and affirming the trial court’s judgment. Salem council approves new contract with police union

SALEM — City council approved a new collective bargaining agreement for the Salem Police Department in its meeting Tuesday. Following an approximately 30-minute executive session council unanimously voted to approve a resolution authorizing Mayor Cyndi Baronzzi Dickey and City Service Safety Director Joe Cappuzzello to execute a new collective bargaining agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Labor Council with the emergency clause. LISBON — Swim safety topped the topics during a recent Columbiana County Health District Board meeting, with the idea of a water watcher being suggested by both the county and the state. “Someone to observe people in the pool,” county Health District Public Information Officer Laura Fauss said. Business owner says landfill dust has left property covered in mud

NEGLEY (WKBN) — A local business owner has been cleaning up much more than debris from Sunday’s storms. He instead found his property to be a muddy mess. Steve Yanni moved to Negley for the convenience of his home being a stone’s throw away from his jobs. He owns Bulldog Motorsports and volunteers at Negley Volunteer Fire Department. Big crowd expected Sunday for Big Boy in Struthers
