SALEM (WKBN) — A Salem woman has died and a passenger has been hospitalized after a car drove into a building Saturday afternoon. A release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol says the car crashed into Perry Township Garage on South Ellsworth Avenue just before 4 p.m. The driver, identified as Jennifer Engle, 56, of Salem, drove her Ford Fiesta off the left side of the roadway, crossing Snyder Avenue and crashing into the building, the release says. NEW WATERFORD — The Village of New Waterford is working to fill the water plant supervisor position. Village Council approved Brandon Gates’ resignation during the August regular meeting. Gates served as the water plant supervisor for nearly seven years before tendering his resignation.
