Salem woman arraigned in August attack in Sebring home

YOUNGSTOWN (WKBN) — A Salem woman who was wanted on a warrant for an August attack at a Sebring home was arraigned Tuesday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. Brandice Bettura, 51, pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony; aggravated assault, a fourth-degree felony; and misdemeanor charges of aggravated menacing and criminal damaging. The case has been assigned to Judge John Durkin. Magistrate Dominic DeLaurentis continued her $25,000 bond pending a bond hearing before Judge Durkin. A court date was not set at arraignment. Fatal crash in St. Clair Township still under investigation

LISBON — An accident which took the life of a Negley woman last month remains under investigation, with the Ohio State Highway Patrol report identifying the other driver as John Lee Shepherd, 41, Hamilton Lane, East Palestine. Katelyn McKenzie Williams, 26, Navajo Trail, Negley, was killed when her southeastbound Ford Escape on state Route 170 was struck head-on by a northwestbound Chevy Silverado driven by Shepherd, who crossed the center line at 7:30 p.m. April 25 in St. Clair Township. Woman dies after Monday morning crash in Perry Township

PERRY TOWNSHIP (WKBN) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a Monday morning crash involving a semi-truck that resulted in a woman’s death. Yolanda Medina Matos, 58, of Campbell, died at the hospital Monday as a result of injuries from a crash around 10 a.m. Monday. The two-vehicle crash happened on state Route 344 at the intersection of Cunningham Road. Beaver Local teacher suffers injuries in dog attack

LISBON — One of two dogs that attacked a woman out for a walk Friday at Lake Tomahawk was scheduled to be euthanized today, with the other one in quarantine in Mahoning County, according to Columbiana County Dog Warden Heidi Wallace. Wallace said Monday the owner of the one dog volunteered to put the dog down, but the owner of the other one refused and said the dog would remain in quarantine. EP woman pleads not guilty in animal cruelty case

LISBON — An East Palestine woman pleaded not guilty during arraignment Monday on four counts of prohibitions concerning companion animals related to 21 animals seized from her home due to alleged unsanitary conditions. Jennifer Albert, 38, West Main Street, was ordered to have no companion animals as a condition of her recognizance bond for the misdemeanor charges.
