COLUMBIANA — Members of Crestview Local Board of Education Personnel Committee plan to meet at 4:45 p.m. Monday in the superintendent’s office.

SALEM — The Salem City Schools Community Relations Committee meeting begins at noon Wednesday in the Administration Office.
Art in Bloom exhibit open in Alliance
ALLIANCE– The Art in Bloom exhibit at Beech Creek Gardens, 11929 Beech St. NE is open every day now through May 27. Art in Bloom is an annual spring flower and art exhibit that features artwork from a dozen northeast Ohio artists nestled in with beautiful flowers and plants resulting in a “horticultural art gallery” of color and fragrance.
The outdoor art exhibit features both professional and amateur artists from Stark, Cuyahoga, Portage and Trumbull counties, as well as student artwork from Biomed Science Academy and Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health of Stark County. In addition to viewing local artwork and spring flowers, visitors of all ages can get creative in the hands-on, make and take art studio where everyone can decorate a walking stick.
Art in Bloom is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. General admission is $5 per person. Beech Creek members and children ages 2 and under receive free admission. For more information visit beechcreekgardens.org.
Salem Seniors to honor 90-year-old members
SALEM — Salem Senior Citizens will honor its 90-year-old members when the group meets at noon Wednesday at the Memorial Building, 785 E. State St. Lunch will be provided.
Columbiana County Park Board meets Wednesday
LISBON — The Columbiana County Park Board’s special session begins at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the County Development Office, 130 Maple St.
United BOE plans special meeting Thursday
HANOVERTON — United Local Board of Education will hold a special board meeting at 7:15 a.m. Thursday at the Administration Office, 8143 state Route 9. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss personnel issues. Action will be taken.
Mahoning Valley Astronomical Society sets star party
AUSTINTOWN — Mahoning Valley Astronomical Society is sponsoring the sixth annual Bill Pearce Memorial Star Party during Astronomy Night from 9 to 11 p.m. June 16 in the Pogany Pavilion at Austintown Township Park (off of Kirk Road; as you enter the park turn left on to the first road). Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts in attendance may earn the Astronomy Merit Badge or its equivalent.
The public is invited to view the planets and deep space objects through telescopes and binoculars. It is suggested to bring bug spray and bottled water. Tickets still available for SRMC Auxiliary drawing
SALEM — Tickets are still available for Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) Auxiliary’s drawing for a one-night stay for two people at the Spread Eagle Tavern and Inn in Hanoverton. The winner will also receive a $100 gift card to be used for dinner at the tavern and a complimentary breakfast for two. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and will be sold in SRMC’s development office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 10 through Sept. 7, on weekdays. Tickets will also be sold from 8 to 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 21-23 and Sept. 6-7 in SRMC’s cafeteria. Auxiliary members will sell tickets from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 15, July 20 and Aug. 17 at the Salem Giant Eagle. The winner will be drawn on Sept. 13.

Columbiana Street Market needs vendors
COLUMBIANA — Vendors are needed for the upcoming Columbiana Street Market. The outdoor market will be held, rain or shine, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 23, July 28, Aug. 25, Sept. 22 and Oct. 27 off South Main Street between Park Avenue and Friend Street. First Friday Block Parties set in Columbiana
COLUMBIANA — The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce will host First Friday Block Parties from 5 to 8 p.m. June 1, July 6 and Aug. 3 on South Main Street. The first block of South Main Street will be closed to traffic from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. On June 1, the event will feature a car show by the Kool Time Kruisers, a remote control car race for children and adults, entertainment, merchant specials and food.
