Drive-thru chicken dinner set in North Lima

NORTH LIMA-- Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave., will hold a Drive-thru Chicken Dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out March 12. Dinner will include a stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and a brownie for $7. Reserve dinners by calling 330-549-2588.

Parkinson's Support Group to meet March 10

SALEM-- Parkinson's Support Group meeting will be held at 1 p.m. March 10 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church Education Building, 251 S. Broadway Ave. The speaker this month is from the Cleveland Clinic. Everyone welcome.

Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course offered

SALEM-- The Salem Community Center will be offering an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course from 5 to 8 p.m. weeknights March 9 through 20. Cost is $255 for members and $300 for non-members. Upon completion participants will receive Lifeguard Training, First Aid, Professional Rescuer CPR and AED Essentials certifications. Evening prayer services planned for Thursdays

COLUMBIANA-- First Presbyterian Church, 23 E. Park Ave., will hold a short service of evening prayer to help reconnect with God during the week from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Thursdays March 12 through June. Walk the labyrinth afterward.

Walking in Wonder Lent Retreat set

COLUMBIANA--First Presbyterian Church, 23 E. Park Ave., will host a Walking in Wonder Lent Retreat from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 14 at First Presbyterian Church, 28 E. Park Ave. Cost $20 includes lunch. For reservations call 330-482-2666 or register @ columbianahub.org.

Registration planned for United Schools

HANOVERTON-- Parents of children who will be 5 years old before Aug. 1 and live in the United District or are considering open enrollment are invited to attend a Parent Orientation Meeting at 6 p.m. March 16 in the Elementary Cafeteria. At the meeting, registration packets will be handed out and other information will be shared to help with enrolling new kindergarteners and getting them off to a successful start. Also at the meeting, appointments will be scheduled for the following week, when packets can be returned and students will be screened. Documents that will need to be gathered are the child's birth certificate, social security card, immunization records, custody documents (if applicable), a photo I.D. and two proofs of residency. These will be presented along with the completed registration packet on the scheduled screening date.

Those planning to open enroll a child, pick up an open enrollment form at the parent meeting, in addition to the registration packet. Open enrolling families will need to register with their home school district first, and then they may apply with United Local. For information call the elementary office at 330-223-8001.

Daydreamers Art Studio for Children to close

SALEM-- Daydreamers Art Studio for Children is closing May 5. Children's classes will end April 28. All Art Class Passes and Gift Certificates must be used by April 28. All student art work must be picked up at the studio by May 10. Schedule for classes is available online at www.ddreamersart.com. Daydreamers is working to find someone to continue offering an art program downtown and hopes to announce new ownership soon. Call 330-332-1760 to register for classes.

Sebring high school students, parents invited to dinner

SEBRING-- Sebring McKinley Jr./Sr. High School students and their families are invited to attend a complimentary dinner and some family fun activities from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 19. Families are asked to enter through the auditorium doors. Families will have their choice to participate in two of four activities, led by teachers and students. Activities include an obstacle course, family painting, athletic competitions and Pictionary. There will also be a break between sessions for a complimentary dinner. Interested attendees must RSVP. Each Jr/Sr High School student was given an RSVP form. Return forms by Friday, March 13, to have an accurate head count for dinner.

Remove decorations at Salem cemeteries

SALEM-- The deadline to remove Christmas decorations from Grandview and Hope cemeteries is March 15.

Spaghetti dinner offered at New Alexander church

NEW ALEXANDER-- New Alexander Christian Church, 7665 Rochester Road, will host a spaghetti dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children up to 12 years and free for children 5 years and under. The menu includes spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and beverage.
