LISBON -- The Columbiana County Auditor's Office is announcing 2021 dog licenses will be on sale Dec. 1 through Jan. 31 2021. In compliance with Ohio Revised Code 955.01, all dogs 3 months of age and older harbored in Columbiana County must be licensed. No dog licenses will be sold online, by mail or in person before Dec. 1.
Due to the COVID19 Pandemic, dog owners are highly recommend to purchase 2021 dog licenses online at https://www.doglicenses.us/OH/Columbiana (a convenience fee will be assessed for all electronic transactions); or by mail. The auditor's office will be providing a drop box in the hallway for convenience since the office only accepts two individuals at a time. Those in need of an application through the mail should call the auditor's office. Most of the office's normal satellite providers will not be selling dog licenses due to the concerns over social distancing requirements by the state and the safety of their staff and customers. Dog owners will be able to buy licenses at Discount Drug Mart in Lisbon or Hanoverton Hardware in Hanoverton. Satellite providers only sell licenses from Dec. 1 through Jan. 31.
The registration fee for the one-year license is $10, the three-year license is $30 and the permanent license is $100. Owners should be aware that the longer-term licenses can be bought online, by mail or in person at the auditor's office only; and are non-refundable in the event of the death of the animal. The cost of each one-year license is $10.75 when purchased at a satellite provider.
Those who received a pre-printed application in the mail should mail the bottom of the application with payment or bring in person. Without a completed application, identification showing name and current address will be required in order to buy dog licenses. The auditor's office and the dog pound will be accepting Visa, MasterCard, Discover and debit cards, in addition to cash, checks and money orders.
Dog license applications and payments may also be mailed to the Columbiana County Auditor's Office at 105 S. Market St., Lisbon, OH, 44432, with a postmark no later than Jan 31, 2021. A penalty of $10 per license will be applied after Jan. 31. Those who no longer have their dog should mark it on their application and return so that the office may update their account. All kennel licenses will be processed by mail only through the auditor's office. If no application was received, call 330-424-9515 ext. 1006 and one will be mailed.
