Heartland School auction

Heartland Christian School will host its 24th Annual Auction Saturday in the school's gymnasium, 28 Pittsburgh St., Columbiana. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. with the live auction starting at 10 a.m. Big items include a Harley Davidson motorcycle, a Bernedoodle puppy and a Playstation 5. There will also be a Silent Auction and a bake and coffee sale. The Guatemala Mission Team will have a breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Salem TOPS meetings

Salem TOPS Chapter 1598 is inviting new members. The chapter meets on Thursdays at 251 S. Broadway Ave. (meet in basement). Weigh in is from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., meeting begins at 10:30 a.m. Handicap accessible. For information call 724-508-4562.

Goshen Twp trustees meeting

Goshen Township trustees will hold a special meeting at 11 a.m. March 27 at the administration building. The meeting is being held to appoint a new fiscal officer, approve the memorandum of understanding with the Mahoning County Engineer's Office and discuss street sweeping and spraying contracts for the road department. A retirement party will be held for former Fiscal Officer Tom Knoedler following the conclusion of the meeting.

Winter decorations removal

All winter decorations must be removed from the Lisbon Cemetery by March 18 in order for spring clean up. Fixed saddles and vases can remain on monuments, but any items on the ground will be discarded.

St. George fish dinner

St. George Church in Lisbon will be hosting a drive thru carry out baked fish dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. March 31. Dinner includes a large baked filet of fish, homemade macaroni and cheese, green beans, apple sauce and a dinner roll for $14. Dinners must be pre-ordered by March 24. Budget commission meeting

The Columbiana County Budget Commission will hold a special meeting at 9:30 a.m. March 20 in the auditor's conference room. The meeting is to sign 2023-24 school budgets and approve certificates submitted since the last meeting in February.

Banquet in Salem sponsors

Randy, Dean and Sandy Hansell will sponsor the dine in or drive thru Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Monday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and cookies. Dine in will park behind the building and proceed to front door. Drive thru will line up in lot behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. No parking in library lot. Teaching job fair at ESC

Fifteen local schools and educational organizations are inviting teaching candidates to a job fair from 9:30 a.m. to noon April 20 at the ESC of Eastern Ohio, 7320 N. Palmyra Road, Canfield. Candidates can pre-register by visiting esceasternohio.org. Pre-registration is recommended, but not required. The day of the job fair, candidates should bring copies of their resumes and any student teaching portfolio materials. Districts attending include Boardman Local Schools, Canfield Local Schools, ESC of Eastern Ohio (formerly Mahoning County ESC), Lowellville Local Schools, Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Mahoning County Regional Council of Governments, Potential Development, Sebring Local Schools, South Range Local Schools, Struthers City Schools, United Local Schools, West Branch Local Schools, Western Reserve Local Schools, Youngstown City Schools and Youngstown Community Schools.

COBA/Select Sires scholarships

The COBA/Select Sires Board of Directors has announced applications are available for the 2023-2024 COBA/Select Sires Scholarship. Applicants must be from the COBA/Select Sires area, be a current customer of COBA/Select Sires and pursuing some form of degree in agriculture. All scholarships applications will go through a committee of board members and staff that have been appointed by the board. This committee will make the final award recommendations. Scholarships are available to high school seniors preparing to enter college as a full-time student or any full-time undergraduate students currently enrolled in college. Applicants or their family members must be active member, owner or customers of COBA/Select Sires. Applicants must be an underclassman with more than one semester of enrolled college program to complete.
