Iden-Iler scholarships

Applications are now available for the Lowell Iden-Larry Iler Memorial Scholarships at the Salem Hunting Club website, salemhuntingclub.com, or by contacting Janet Iden at 330-332-5765. The application deadline is June 1. The selection of the award will be based on scholastic record, future plans, motivation, leadership, financial need and commitment to outdoor sports and field of study in agriculture, biology, wildlife conservation or environmental service. Send all applications to Salem Hunting Club, 564 N. Indiana Ave., Salem OH 44460 or Janet Iden, 469 W. 4th St., Salem OH 44460. The 20th annual fundraiser for the scholarships will be held Aug. 5 at the Salem Hunting Club with a breakfast, trap shoot, basket auction and 50/50 drawing. It is open to the public.

Banquet in Salem

The dine in or drive thru Banquet in Salem will be sponsored anonymously Monday from 5 p.m. until the food is gone at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include sausage sandwiches with peppers and onions, diced potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and pudding. Dine in will park in designated area behind the Memorial Building and proceed to the front door. Drive thru will line up in lot behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. Bank One Retirees

Bank One Retirees and friends will meet at noon May 16 at BB Rooners in Salem. RSVP by May 14 to 330-427-0304.

Winona Friends rummage sale

Winona Friends Church, 4687 Whinnery Road, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 19 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 20. Fill a bag for $5 unless otherwise marked.

United Local NOPEC meeting

The United Local School District will host a public town hall meeting with NOPEC representative John Zehentbauer at 6 p.m. Monday in the auditorium to clarify and answer questions regarding the letters residents have received and decisions they must make. All are welcome.

Park district spring hike

The Columbiana County Park District will hold a spring hike at 9 a.m. Saturday at Hellbender Bluff Park in Calcutta. The hike is moderate in difficulty. Participants are asked to gather at the pavilion.

Eagle Scout benefit dinner

The New Alexander Christian Church will hold a spaghetti dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday. The meal will consist of spaghetti, rolls, choice of side, homemade desserts and beverage for a donation. The proceeds will be used for the completion of Zebediah Snyder's Eagle Scout project at the church finished by Troop 150 of Minerva.
