Farmers National Bank to expand Canfield headquarters

CANFIELD -- Farmers National Bank is announcing an addition to its main office in Canfield. Construction on the 27,000-square-foot headquarters expansion is slated to begin in June with an anticipated construction time of 14 to 16 months.
Farmers has selected Strollo Architects of Youngstown to design the addition. Greg Strollo will serve as lead architect on the project, with Strollo's David Roose handling the project manager's duties. Construction Management Services will be provided by DeSalvo Construction of Hubbard.
"Farmers has been central to the growth of our region since 1887. Now, as our company continues to grow, this expansion will greatly enhance our ability to be centrally located, taking advantage of the synergies of the talented people that have joined Farmers over the years," stated Farmers President and CEO Kevin Helmick. "A portion of our lending team, branch operations, marketing and executive offices will also be housed in the new addition."
The first floor of the building will be home to a multimedia production room to be utilized by the marketing team for content creation. The most exciting feature of this expansion is the roof-top meeting area with a host of amenities including seating, picnic tables, putting green and an outdoor kitchen. This space presents an opportunity for the bank to host employee and customer functions.
The alterations and additions will expand across Lisbon Street to the south of the existing campus and along the western edge of the Canfield Green. This southeast corner of the new building will feature a rounded aesthetic, echoing other such intersections around the Green. This rounded, glassy corner will highlight the addition's new second floor executive board room, expressing a new character and identity for the expanding bank.
The new addition further reinforces the traditional character of Canfield by incorporating architectural features from the community, in particular the two-story scale and color palette of the brick exterior, double hung windows, and shingled roof of the adjacent Farmers Bank building to the north.
In keeping with its values, the bank's headquarters will pay homage to its roots by featuring historical photos of office locations, directors, and CEOs. "We've had a rock solid history for more than 136 years. As the 9th CEO in Farmers history, I'm proud to continue that as we enter this next phase in the company's growth," stated Helmick.
Also undergoing renovations in 2023 is the flagship branch, known as the Canfield Main Office. When completed, customers will enjoy a remodeled office in which the decor will complement the new headquarters building, branded in the bank's signature royal blue and gold colors.
