In recognition of Mother's Day, the Salem Historical Society Museum is offering free admission for mothers on Sunday when accompanied by a family member. This year's new exhibit features Salem China Company, one of Salem's largest employers from 1898 until the late 1900s. Other exhibits are the old fashioned parlor, dining room, and kitchen. Special displays include the Wirsching Room with their antique furniture along with the history of the Wirsching Organ Company; and the Ed and Gerry Sullivan exhibit of their art and the special bond that they shared.

Sunday tours are open from May through October from 1 to 4 p.m., with the last tour beginning at 3:30 p.m. Sunday visitors should enter the front door of the Schell Building at 208 S Broadway Ave.

The Gift Shop on the lower level of Dale Shaffer Library, 239 S. Lundy Ave., is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon. Contact the Museum for further information at 330-337-8514 or visit SalemHistoricalSociety.org.
