The Beautification Committee of the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce has announced Back Home Market and Cafe at The Supplement Station has been recognized as the Business of the Month for the month of June. The cafe, located at 1139 E. Pidgeon Road, has been in business for five years and serve what owner Kelli Miller describes as "comfort food elevated." In addition to the cafe, which includes a deli and catering service, the business offers an eclectic mix of items, including vitamins and supplements, health and beauty products, arts and crafts produced by local artisans, and ice cream and smoothies. The raised flower beds and planters at the front of the cafe include snap dragons, pansies, and violas, as well as petunias, dahlias and coleus. Many of these plants and other herbs, including oregano, chives, sage and mint, are harvested for use in the fruit and vegetable trays and charcuterie offered by the cafe.
