YOUNGSTOWN - Potential Development announces two recent personnel changes. Christine Jenkins was promoted to chief growth officer from director of development and community relations, a position she has held since March, 2021. Katelynn McBee also joined the staff as development coordinator.
In her new role, Jenkins is responsible for managing all aspects of the development program to increase revenue, maximize potential and reach designated organizational funding goals by providing leadership in capital campaigns, special events, grant writing and by cultivating and enhancing relationships among the community.
She brings almost 30 years of development experience to the organization. Prior to joining Potential Development, she was the Youngstown Foundation Program Coordinator overseeing the Hine Memorial Fund from 2011-2021, and from 1996-2011 she was the Director of Development for the Youngstown Hearing & Speech Center.
Active in the community, Jenkins is a committee member for the William Swanston Charitable Foundation of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley; a committee member for the Healthy Community Partnership; and a member of the Literary Society of the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County.
She is a 1986 graduate of Ursuline HS and an alumna of Ohio University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Communication in 1990. Jenkins resides in Canfield with her husband Richard, and they are the parents of two adult children.
Katelynn McBee will focus on assisting the Communication, Marketing, Events and Development department with special projects and research. She most recently was a Development Intern at Stambaugh Auditorium, and served as Volunteer Coordinator there until April, 2023.
McBee graduated from Youngstown State University in May, 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Nonprofit Leadership. She also earned a Leadership Certificate while at YSU. McBee is a 2019 graduate of South Range HS and resides in Canfield.

Potential Development is a Pre-K through 12th grade school for children with autism. It provides children with autism a safe, structured educational environment with supportive services that give students the necessary skills and independence to lead a productive life.
