breakfast
The Salem Hunting Club will hold its annual Lowell Iden and Larry Iler Scholarship Fundraiser starting at 7 a.m. Saturday. The breakfast will be available from 7 to 11 a.m. for $7. The trap shoot will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $5. There will also be a basket raffle and 50/50 tickets sold. All proceeds go to the scholarship fund. This year's awards will be presented at 11 a.m. Lunch will be available and all events are open to the public. All donations are welcome and should be made to Iden-Iler Scholarship Fund mailed c/o Janet Iden, 469 W. Fourth St., Salem OH 44460. The Salem Hunting Club is located at 564 N. West Twp. Homecoming
The West Township Ruritans will host their Homecoming Aug. 10, 11 and 12 at 24390 U.S. Route 30, East Rochester. There will be a garage sale all three days and the kitchen will be open daily. Aug. 11 will include an Antique & Farm Stock Tractor Pull at 6 p.m. Aug. 12 will include kids games at 1 p.m., a car show from 2 to 5 p.m. and Mod Rod Pullers at 6 p.m. The Aug. 11 pull schedule, with a hook fee of $10 and grudge match fee of $20, begins with weigh-in at 5 p.m. and follows: 9500-8 MPH FS NT, 4500-4/8 MPH Antique, 5500-4/8 MPH Antique, 6000-6 MPH "Grudge Match" Antique, 8500-8 MPH FS NT, 6500-4/8 MPH Antique and 7500-FS NT. Mooney Food Truck Wars
Cardinal Mooney Men's Varsity Soccer Program is hosting a Food Truck Wars Fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 11. Vote the People's Choice award. There will also be basket raffles as well. Food trucks that are supporting the fundraiser include HoneyBee Waffle Company, Smoke Worx Street Cuisine, Avo-RRito Street Cusine, Babcias Lunchbox and Tra's Gourmet Sandwiches.
Deadline for OSU send-off
The deadline is approaching to RSVP for The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Columbiana County's annual Summer Student Send-Off Picnic. RSVP to Matt Yerkey at matthewyerkey63@gmail.com no later than Sunday, Aug. 6. The picnic will be Thursday, Aug. 10, at Columbiana's Firestone Park, Pavilion 4. Meet and greet is at 6 p.m. and a catered meal is at 6:30 p.m. All alumni and their families, incoming freshman and current OSU students and their families as well as friends of OSU are invited. All OSU students in attendance will be entered in a drawing for two $250 door prizes. Non-student adults are asked for a donation to offset event costs.
