Guilford Lake Civic Association
The Guilford Lake Civic Association will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Ruritan Hall on state Route 172. Guest speaker will be Lance Hostetler, superintendent of United Local Schools. The theme for July 4, 2024, will be voted on.
Salem LCBA Branch 654
Salem LCBA Branch 654 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Salem, will resume regular monthly meetings following summer recess at 6 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Salem Senior Housing Club House, 996 W. Perry St. A covered dish dinner will be featured with those attending asked to bring a covered dish and table service. Beverages will be provided. President Rose Bedell will conduct the business session at which reports will be given and charitable endeavors will be reviewed. Serving on the refreshment committee are Betsy Sposetta and Kathleen Weikart. Guests are welcome.
Salem High School '59 picnic
The Salem High School Class of 1959 will hold a picnic at 3 p.m. Sept. 16 at classmate Ray Bricker's farm just outside of Salem at 12827 Goshen Road. Dinner will begin at 4 p.m. All 1959 classmates plus guest(s) are invited. Baked chicken, water, soft drinks and the necessary tableware, plates, cups, etc. will be provided. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish or dessert.
