NCTA announces September hikes in Lisbon

LISBON -- The Wampum Chapter, North Country Trail Association has announced its September slate of hikes.

The first is a Pancake-Clarkson night hike from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 5. Meet at Gretchen's Lock/Group Camp. The hike will depart promptly at 6 p.m. This is a 6-mile moderate paced (3 mile per hour) hike. The terrain has plenty of elevation changes to get the heart pumping.

The Lisbon Appleseed Greenway Hike will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 16, meeting at the Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trailhead, Lisbon Train Station. This hike is 3 miles out and back, easy hiking. Bring water and wear appropriate footwear.

The final event is a Fall Evening Hike on Pancake-Clarkson from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 19, meeting at the Pancake Clarkson NCT parking lot. This will be a moderate paced (3 mile per hour) 6-mile hike. The terrain has plenty of elevation changes to get the heart pumping. The hike will be from Pancake-Clarkson to state Route 170, with a short breather before heading back. Make sure to bring plenty of water and wear proper hiking shoes/boots.
