Banquet in Salem

An anonymous donor is sponsoring the dine in and drive thru Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Monday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include pork chops, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, applesauce, fresh vegetables and fruit and cookies. Dine in will park in the designated area and proceed to the front door. Drive thru will line up in the lot behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. No parking in the library lot. Military, first responders event

Before the competition begins for Friday's match up against Columbiana, Lisbon Exempted Village School District will host local military and first responders for a community meet-and-greet and pre-game presentation. The stadium's main lot will open at 5 p.m. for a meet-and-greet with representatives from the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Lisbon Police, Lisbon Fire Department, Columbiana County Sheriff's Office, ATF, U.S. Marshals and more. First responders and military members will be recognized on the field ahead of kick-off with a special presentation and playing of each military branch's song. The ceremony will culminate with a parachuter descending to mid-field to present the game ball in preparation for the performance of the national anthem with the Blue Pride Marching Band and Color Guard. All military and first responders are invited to the game for free entry and participation in the evening's tribute.

Beginner bridge lessons

Columbiana Women's Club (CWC) will offer complimentary Beginner Bridge Lessons with Master Player Sally Sabota from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays Sept. 20 and 27, as well as Oct. 4 and 11. The classes are open to men and women who are new to bridge, as well as those interested in refreshing their game. Each of the four two-hour Beginner Bridge sessions includes a lecture, interaction and practice to help attendees learn to work with their partners on techniques like Opening Leads against Suit Contracts, Opening Leads against No trump Contracts, Count Signals and Suit Preference Signals. Lisbon Banquet

The Lisbon Banquet will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at New Lisbon Presbyterian Church. The menu will include baked spaghetti, sliced garden vegetable salad, bread and butter, assorted desserts, beverages. Dine in only with take out available after 6 p.m. Hosted by New Lisbon Presbyterian Church.
