CCCTC celebrates recent nursing, police graduates

LISBON -- The Columbiana County Career & Technical Center celebrated graduates from both the Practical Nursing Program and the OPOTA Police Academy Sept. 14. There were 27 nursing graduates and five police who successfully completed their courses of study. Emily Deack, Nursing Program administrator presented three awards -- Spirit of Nursing to Misty Breault, Clinical Excellence to Jenese Scott and Highest Academic Honor to Katelyn Foster.

Dr. Kelly Darney, adult director, and Allen Young, Police Program police commander, presented the newly commissioned police officers with their diplomas. Darney and School Superintendent Willard Adkins presented diplomas to the nursing students. Lead Instructor Jacki Fieldhouse pinned all the  nursing graduates. They were presented roses by Coordinator Nina DeLullo and Rotaract members were given certificates and a gift from Kyle Cranmer of the Rotary Club of Salem.  

A graduation address was given by Darney. There were over 250 guests present for the ceremony which included a candle lighting ceremony as well.
