Holborn Herb Growers Guild annual tea party

CANFIELD -- The Holborn Herb Growers Guild will host its 2023 annual tea party from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 1 in the Hay & Grain Building of the Canfield Fairgrounds (use Gate 5 entrance on state Route 46 Columbiana Canfield Road).
Tea tickets are $20 per person and children 10 years of age and under are $10, cash or check. Ticket sales are limited. For ticket information and purchasing, contact Guild President Eva (Bunny) Pavlov at 330-507-8565.
Adults and children are encouraged to attend this year's planned festivities which will feature the sampling of herbal teas along with the samplings of both savory and sweet delicacies to delight the palate. Tour herb gardens and historic buildings in the Western Reserve Village. Guest Speaker "Tea Chef" Alfred Farrand will delight guests with the history of teas and English tea etiquette. He was born in Weast, part of Salford, county of Lancaster, now part of Greater Manchester. He has owned and operated tea houses in Canada and the Shenandoah Valley. As a take home keepsake of the event, souvenir tea cups and saucers will be gifted to each visitor. Basket raffles will be offered along with a Komara Jewelers door prize drawing.
The Holborn Herb Growers Guild began in 1982 with the aim of educating members and the public in the use and enjoyment of herbs. To this end, the guild has established public herb gardens at the Western Reserve Village at the Canfield Fairgrounds and the Summer Kitchen Gardens at Boardman Park and has held numerous educational programs, events and the publication of the Herbal Fare cookbook.
