CANFIELD - The Mahoning County Career and Technical Center hosted a visit from the Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education (Ohio ACTE) Executive Director Dee Smith Tuesday. Smith had the opportunity to tour the state-of-the-art facility and engage in meaningful discussions with students and staff during her visit.
As the leader of Ohio ACTE, Smith plays a pivotal role in advocating for career and technical education across the state. Her visit to MCCTC underscores her commitment to understanding the challenges and successes of career and technical education institutions firsthand.
During her tour she was able to witness the innovative programs and cutting-edge technology that empower students to gain the skills and knowledge needed for successful careers. She visited various classrooms observing students as they worked on real-world projects and honed their technical skills.
One of the highlights of the visit was Smith's interactions with the students and staff. She engaged in insightful conversations with students about their career aspirations, the value of vocational education, and their experiences at the school.
