Pumpkin/apple tasting in EP

The Friends of the East Palestine Memorial Public Library are sponsoring their annual Pumpkin/Apple Tasting event at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Library Community Room. The featured speaker will be Elaine from Less Farms who will provide an educational program on apples. This annual event welcomes fall with a sampling of recipes made with pumpkin and/or apples. There will also be door prizes. Bring a dessert or a food item that has pumpkin or apple as an ingredient and the recipe to share. Participants will enjoy a sample of the food and will receive a typed cookbook with all of the recipes from the event. RSVP the library at 330-426-3778.

Lisbon Banquet Oct. 23

Lisbon Banquet will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the New Lisbon Presbyterian Church; dine in only with take out after 6 p.m. Them menu will include ham, cheesy potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls, desserts, beverages. The host is Kent State University Salem & East Liverpool Campus

Crestview board meeting change

The Crestview Local school board regular meeting for October has been moved to 5 p.m. Oct. 16 in the middle school cafeteria.

CCCTC conferences Oct. 12

The Columbiana County Career and Technical Center will hold 2023-2024 first semester parent teacher conferences Oct. 12 from 2:15 to 8:45 p.m. To schedule a conference with one's student's teachers, contact the school at 330-424-9561 Ext. 110 and speak to Cindy Pugh.

Pioneer Day set for Saturday

The Friends of Beaver Creek State Park will be holding their 47th annual Pioneer Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Pioneer Village in Beaver Creek State Park. There will be vendors and crafters, the usual array of great homemade food and desserts, music, Kidz Zone and an assortment of goods for sale in the trading post. All the buildings in Pioneer Village will be open and many will be manned for demonstrations of blacksmithing, quilting, teaching in a one-room school and more. Gaston's Mill will be operating so visitors can watch how grain was ground into flour and corn meal in the 1800s. There is no charge for admission or parking.
