MINERVA - Visit downtown Minerva for Nights on North Market, Friday, Oct. 13, for live music, art, food and drink, and shopping.
The Market Street Art Spot will host a reception from 5 to 9 p.m., featuring work by the Canton Fiber Arts Guild, live music by the Raines sisters and light refreshments.
West High Street, between North Market and Main streets, and the parking lot of the former Chase Bank will be the site of a popup pocket park for the evening with Finding Sparky playing 6 to 9 p.m., sponsored by Daystar.
Axe throwing with Grab That Axe will be on hand, and there will also be a variety of games and activities, including a carnival game, bounce houses, a large chalk design everyone can help fill in, and more.
Local crafters and vendors will be set up on High Street and classic horror movie from 1980 "The Children" (R) will play in the Roxy Theatre at 9:30 p.m.
Shops open downtown will include Vintage Home by IlluminArt and the Market Mercantile, until 9 p.m.; SummerGirl Studio, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and the Minerva Area Historical Society's Haas Museum will be open 6 to 8 p.m.
Walker's Cafe, Minerva Perk and the Komfort Zone will be open until 9 p.m., and Angello's 2 U food truck will be serving appetizers, pizza, meatball subs, Italian subs, chicken sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches and more.
The village's Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area will be in effect 5 to 10 p.m., and DORA beverages may be purchased at Sandy Springs Brewing Company, Que Pasa Mexican Restaurant, Stoney Inn, and the Normandy Inn. The SSBC Arcade will also be open.
