East Palestine Order of the Eastern Star #381 presented the 2023 Star Award for Community Service to Mayor Trent Conaway, Police Chief James Brown and Fire Chief Keith Drabick. This award was established in 2015 to recognize people in area who have given outstanding service to the East Palestine area. The order teaches convictions of right and duty; honor and justice; loyal to kindred and friends; trustful faith in the hour of trial; spirit of charity and love of truth. The chapter felt that these three men have lived by these teachings. Worthy Matron Laura McMillin and Worthy Patron Gary Todds presented each man a Certificate of Achievement, a gift and cut-out cookies for all the other first responders. They presented a monetary love gift to Brown for K-9 officer Toney. From left, Todds, Conaway, Brown and McMillin. (Submitted photo)
