Rodman kids craft
Rodman Public Library's monthly Kids Crafting program continues at 4 p.m. Dec. 14 when children ages 7-12 are invited to come to the Main Library to create a craft stick sleigh ornament that will feature a picture of themselves. All materials used during monthly kids crafting programs are provided for free thanks to the Friends of Rodman Public Library. Registration is required at rodmanlibrary.com. Rodman Grinchmas
Rodman Public Library is the place to be to celebrate Grinchmas this December. With the Children's Department looking a bit like Whoville, a Grinchmas Who-liday open house is planned for Saturday, Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children of all ages will have fun as they stroll through the children's area where several different stations of games and crafts will be offered during the Whobilation. No registration is required to attend the open house. At 2 p.m., an interactive Dr. Seuss movie will be shown inside the Rodman Auditorium. Children will be given a goodie bag, compliments of the Friends of Rodman Library, and instructions that will help make viewing the film that much more fun. Registration is required to attend this event at rodmanlibrary.com. All ages are welcome to view films at RPL, but children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult companion. In keeping with the Whoville theme, a nine-hole Grinch-inspired putt-putt course will be open to all ages throughout the auditorium, gallery and children's program room at Rodman Library all day on Dec. 22 and 23. Chicken dinner
Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave., North Lima, will hold a drive-thru chicken dinner Dec. 14 from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Dinner will include a stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and a brownie. Cost of the dinner is $9. Reserve dinners by calling 330-549-2588.
South Range meeting
The South Range school board has canceled its regular meeting Dec. 20. The board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Dec. 13 at the K-12 building.
SHS Class of 1959
The Salem High School Class of 1959 will celebrate the season by meeting Saturday at the home of Carol Lippiatt, 1813 E. State St., right next door to the Burger King. Lippiatt opened her home to the class last Christmas and, so this year, again, it will be a potluck lunch. Water, plates, napkins and tableware will be furnished. Classmates are asked to bring their favorite Christmas dish. Lippiatt made arrangements for attendees to park at Hunt Valve next door to her house so there is easy access to parking, and then to walk across the yard to her back door. Crestview concert
A Crestview Christmas Concert is scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 16 in the performing arts center. The main event will be a holiday concert performance by the Crestview High School House Band. Holiday-themed activities will be available before the show for the kids (doors will open at 5 p.m. for Santa, kids activities and raffle baskets). Children can sit on Santa's lap, share their list with him and get photos for a $2 donation. There will also be a variety of raffle baskets. Punch and cookies will be provided during the intermission. All funds support the Crestview Junior Class After Prom Committee. Tickets cost $8 per adult and $4 per student/child, available at the door.
PERI #59
PERI #59 will meet at 1 p.m. Dec. 11 at First Christian Church, 225 E. Washington St., Lisbon. A speaker from the Columbiana County Sheriff's office will attend. All public employees, retired or nearing retirement, are welcome. The 2024 dues are due.
