MINERVA -- Visit downtown Minerva for Nights on North Market Friday for live music, art, food and drink, family fun and shopping.
The Market Street Art Spot will host an artists reception, 5-9 p.m., featuring ornaments handmade by the resident artists, many gifts costing less than $50, free gift wrapping, live music by Stephanie Burns, and light refreshments.
West High Street, between North Market and Main streets, will be the site of a popup pocket park and Christmas village, 5-8 p.m., featuring a hot chocolate bar, chili, and games sponsored by Minerva Perk; storytime with Elsa and Ana in Minerva Perk's Next Door; gourmet s'mores, face painting, cookie decorating, an ugly sweater contest, Christmas Music from Jammin' Sam and the Sipz & Trips Party Bus.
The Minerva Area Historical Society's annual Christmas Concert will take place in the Roxy Theatre, beginning at 8 p.m. and featuring DJ's Rock & Roll Big Band. Tickets are $10 each and will be available at the door.
Shops open downtown will include Vintage Home by IlluminArt and the Market Mercantile, until 9 p.m.; SummerGirl Studio, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.; Walker's Cafe, Minerva Perk will be open until 8 p.m., and the Komfort Zone will be open until 9 p.m.,
The village's Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area will be in effect 5-10 p.m., and DORA beverages may be purchased at Sandy Springs Brewing Company, Que Pasa Mexican Restaurant, Stoney Inn, and the Normandy Inn. The SSBC Arcade will also be open.
