Friends of the Banquet to sponser Fourth Thursday Banquet in Salem

Friends of the Banquet will sponsor the dine in or drive thru Fourth Thursday Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Thursday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include macaroni and cheese, peas, applesauce, fresh vegetables and fruit, and peaches. Dine in will park in the designated area and proceed to the front door. Drive thru will line up behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. No parking in library lot. For more information call Patty Colian at 330-831-2169.

Lepper Library to host

an Adult Paint & Sip program

Lepper Library will host an Adult Paint & Sip program from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 1. Local High School Art teacher Heather Connor will walk guests through the steps of painting a winter scene while sipping on a non-alcoholic beverage. This is a limited class so sign up quickly at the circulation desk. A supply fee of $8 is due at sign up. No refunds once supplies have been ordered. Brought in part by the Ohio Arts Council.

'Learn to Grow Giant Pumpkins

and Great Vegetables' free seminar

Ohio Valley Giant Pumpkin Growers will host a free seminar, "Learn to Grow Giant Pumpkins & Great Vegetables," from 9:30 a.m. to noon Feb. 3 at Parks Garden Center in Canfield. This information filled session will include the following topics: site selection, soil health and biology, patch layout, genetics selection, fertility/nutrient availability, fungus, pest and weed management, irrigation, mulching, and vine pruning.
