EP Eagles sirloin tips

East Palestine Eagles is having their monthly sirloin tip and noodle drive thru from 4 to 6 p.m. or sold out Wednesday. Dinner is sirloin tip and noodles, coleslaw, roll and dessert for $11, or $10 if over 65 years of age. Call 330-886-0397 to reserve meals.

YAPA scholarship

The Youngstown Alumnae Panhellenic Association (YAPA) is accepting applications for its 2024-2025 scholarship for an active member of a National Panhellenic Conference Sorority/Fraternity member. YAPA will be offering a Panhellenic scholarship for the 2024-2025 school year to an undergraduate who is an active member of a National Panhellenic Conference organization who is a resident from Mahoning, Trumbull, or Columbiana counties in the state of Ohio. Applications will be made available at www.youngstownalumnaepanhellenic.weebly.com with a deadline of March 31, 2024. YAPA has leadership positions available for sorority alumnae. Banquet in Salem

Daren Odey will sponsor the Fourth Thursday Dine in or Drive Thru Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Thursday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include fried chicken, diced potatoes with onions and peppers, corn, cole slaw, fresh vegetables and fruit, and cookies. Dine in will park in the designated area behind the building and proceed to front door. Drive thru will line up in lot behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. MVLNA Spring Clinic

The 2024 Mahoning Valley Landscape and Nursery Association (MVLNA) Spring Clinic has an extensive lineup of speakers and activities for gardening needs. Industry specialists and OSU Extension will cover topics such as employee incentives and retention, as well as best practices for pruning and fertilizing. The program is Wednesday, March 6 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown. This event will include a tradeshow with vendor displays and industry updates. Registration for the program is $75 for members of MVLNA, FFRG, Garden Club, or Master Gardeners and is $110 for non-members. Master Gardeners fruit

The idea of cultivating fruit in a small farm or home garden may seem daunting, but it's quite manageable. As economic trends shift and interest in healthier, locally grown food increases, a growing number of Ohioans are exploring the possibilities of fruit gardening right in their own backyards and small farms. This journey into fruit gardening is about more than just harvesting a crop; it's an enriching experience that deepens connection with the earth and contributes positively to environmental sustainability. Anyone interested in enhancing their skills in cultivating fruit for home gardens and small farms is welcome to attend the session at OSU Extension Mahoning County, 490 S Broad St., Canfield, from 9 to 11 a.m. March 9. A registration fee of $20 includes all necessary handouts and materials for the workshop. Women's book club

Salem Women's Book Club to host Pat Tingle speaking about children's literature at 1 p.m. March 18 at the Smucker House, 271 S. Broadway Ave. Tingle has a vast collection of children's books and will speak from her years of teaching experience encouraging children to read. A discussion will follow about why some books are being banned from school libraries. The book club was organized in 1910 with the first meeting held at the Historic Smucker House in 1953. This club has been in existence in Salem for 114 years and the membership keeps on growing. Join them for a delightful meeting and a time to meet new friends. Jr. Mothers scholarship

The Salem Junior Mothers Club is currently taking applications for its 2023-2024 school year scholarship. The club will review all submissions and reward two applicants with a $1,000 scholarship each. Any interested graduating 2024 Salem High School senior can pick up an application in the Salem High School guidance counselor's office and review the application process. All applications will be due by 3 p.m. April 5.

Lisbon VFW fish fries

The VFW Post 4111 in Lisbon will host a fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. every Friday through Lent. The fish dinner costs $14. Dine in or take out. Phone orders at 330-424-7586.
