Lundy Ave., and a minimum of 15 is required. The cost is $15 per person. Reservations can be made at 330-337-8514. If leaving a message, a confirming call will be returned during regular office hours. A docent takes passengers back in time to the late 1850s. After sharing many stories, the travelers will return to the 21st century with a better understanding of the plight of the slaves, the working of the Underground Railroad and the abolitionist movement that flourished in Salem prior to the Civil War. Since the homes are private and entrance is not possible, a screen inside the trolley flashes slides showing the inside the homes, Railroad hiding places and several abolitionists who lived in or visited the homes. The slides also clarify the historical information presented in the program.
