The Columbiana 40&8 Veterans organization recently gave a $500 scholarship to a local nursing student at Hanna Mullins. Pictured is Dick Simpson presenting the scholarship to Lillian Schmucker. A portion of membership fees goes toward the scholarship each year as do proceeds from the organization's monthly breakfasts. The next breakfast will be held at the 40&8 at 44640 state Route 14, Columbiana, Sunday, April 7, from 7 to 11 a.m. Breakfast is either pancakes with hashbrowns and eggs and sausage or a traditional Haystack breakfast.
