Banquet in Salem on Thursday

Salem Emmanuel Lutheran Church will sponsor the dine in or drive thru 4th Thursday Banquet in Salem from 5 p.m. until the food is gone Thursday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include Italian meatloaf, pasta, vegetables, salad, fresh vegetables and fruit, and brownies. Dine in will park in designated area and proceed to front door. Drive thru will line up in the lot behind the building; one meal per individuals in the vehicle. No parking in the library lot. EP Park Board meeting

Due to the tornado warnings in the area last week, the East Palestine Park Board meeting was cut short. It has been rescheduled to continue at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the municipal building, 85 N. Market St.

Doo Wop Bop Senior Citizen Pro

Salem Interact Club is hosting a free Doo Wop Bop Senior Citizen Prom. Get tickets at the following locations: Salem Computer Center, Salem Public Library, Salem Community Center or Salem First Christian Church. On Saturday, May 4, guests will be served dinner and dessert. There will be music, dancing, prizes, and a 1960s music trivia game.

Salem Saxon Scholarship Fund

The Salem Saxon Scholarship Fund trustees have announced that 2024 scholarship application forms are now available at the guidance offices of Salem High School, West Branch High School and United Local High School. All students who meet eligibility are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and plan to attend or be enrolled in a post high school educational program in the fall of 2024. The completed scholarship applications and required attachments are due no later than June 1. This is the 38th year that the fund has been awarding scholarships to area high school students. The scholarships are funded through donations and other fund-raising events. Donations may be made in honor of a student or as a memorial to a loved one. Plant sale at Beeghly Fountain

Copeland Oaks Retirement Community, 800 S. 15th St., Sebring, will hold a plant sale Thursday and Friday May 2 and 3 at the Beeghly Fountain to support its library. Plant sale hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Plants available for purchase include annuals from River's Bend--hanging baskets, pansy boxes, succulents, Geraniums, bedding plants and herbs. Although Copeland Oaks provides the space for the library and the Friends of the Library provides some funds, this volunteer organization relies on the plant sale as its main source of operating income. Spring Rummage Sale

Mt. Olivet UCC, 410 W. South Range Road, North Lima, will hold a Spring Rummage Sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 2, featuring a bake sale; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 3, featuring half prices; and 9 a.m. to noon May 4, featuring $1 a bag. Kitchen will be open May 2 and 3. The sale includes clothes, toys, household items, furniture, collectibles, books and more.
