HERMITAGE, Pa. — Military Officers Association of America – Mahoning and Shenango Valleys Chapter welcomed Sharon Sorg, publisher of The Herald and New Castle News, at its June 20 Dinner Meeting at Golden Corral Buffet and Grill in Hermitage, Pa.
A native of Mercer County and graduate of Sharon High School and Penn State University, Sorg discussed her nearly 40 years in the newspaper business, her duties as a publisher, and the role her newspapers play in their communities. She also took questions from attendees.
Additionally, the chapter delivered a $300 donation to Camp Corral, a non-profit corporation providing the children of wounded, injured, ill, or deceased service members with summer camp experiences nationwide.
The next chapter meeting is Thursday, July 18 at 5 p.m. at the Vienna Fish & Game Club, 1508 Youngstown-Kingsville Road (state Route 193), Vienna, OH 44473 for its annual Gun Shoot/BBQ Picnic.
