Celebrating Seniors Lunch
Celebrating Seniors Lunch will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 24 at First Presbyterian Church, 28 E. Park Ave., Columbiana. It will feature a free lunch followed by "How to Avoid Scams" program presented by Columbiana Police Department and a local expert. Make a reservation with Judy at 330-482-2666.
Historical society program
The third quarterly meeting and program of the Historical Society of Columbiana & Fairfield Township will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 28 E. Park Ave., Columbiana. A brief business meeting will be held with election of trustees for three year terms. The slate of officers for election are Kimberly Bland, Deborah Himes, Ken Krisa and Gayle Rugh. The evening's program is provided by Columbiana resident Chuck Beiling. His program is the Lewis & Clark Expedition, Pittsburgh to Astoria. Beiling is an avid researcher and collector of Lewis and Clark. Mrs. Beiling and he have traveled the route and will share the history and will share displays collected from the travels.
Port authority virtual meeting
The Columbiana County Port Authority will hold a virtual special board meeting on Monday at 9:30 a.m. via Telephone Conference Call. The purpose of the meeting will be for the approval of a Lease Agreement and for the Rejection of a Bid. No other action will be taken.Anyone wishing to attend the public meeting by Teleconference must call the Port Authority office at 330-424-1800 x 2 by noon today to request call-in instructions.
Christmas craft show
Christmas with Friends Craft Show will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m at First Friends Church in Salem. Vendors will be selling holiday gifts, handmade items, wreaths, candles, soaps, books, crochet items, art, baked goods, antiques, refurbished items and more. Concession stand included.
SPARK Storytellers
The SPARK Storytellers are coming to the Trinity Playhouse in Lisbon on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. for one performance only. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door. The program consists of nine original stories written and told by local residents about a time in their lives when things got "spooky, freaky, scary or just plain weird!" Topics range from stage fright to a medical emergency involving burritos to responding to a 1980s personal ad to a young American soldier who finds himself alone in an ancient German graveyard at night. These true-to-life stories are told with humor and human interest in the intimate setting of the Trinity Playhouse at 234 Lincoln Way. SPARK stands for Storytelling to Promote Acceptance, Respect and Kindness. Begun by Stage Left Executive Director Kandace Cleland two years ago, the SPARK Storytellers Program has brought nearly 100 original stories to the stage.
Luke Yates gospel concert
Columbiana United Methodist Church will host a concert featuring gospel singer Luke Yates Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. Yates was the lead singer in the band New Legacy Project. He is a devoted gospel artist with a mission to spread the word of God through his soulful music. With a blend of traditional gospel and contemporary melodies, Yates' performances create an atmosphere of reverence and joy. He travels across America, visiting small churches to share his uplifting messages of love, hope and redemption. Through his music, Yates invites listeners to join him on a journey of faith and discovery, reminding them of the transformative power of God through song. EP Eagles Night at the Races
EP Eagles #1506 is having a Night at the Races to benefit local organizations and school activities. Races start at 7 p.m. but doors open at 6 p.m. Food is being provided. Lots of games of chances throughout the evening. Open to public.
