Garden Donation
The Columbiana Community Foundation presented a check to the Columbiana Restoration and Beautification Committee in the amount of $18,000 to install two pollinator gardens, that are specifically attractive and sustainable to pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, at the Harvey S. Firestone Recreational Park. The project will include educational signage, an arbor, unique artwork and of course plant material that attracts pollinators. The plant selections are those recommended by Bill Hendricks of Klyn Nurseries, Perry, Ohio, who is one of the top 20 nurserymen in the country. The Harvey S. Firestone Recreational Park is open to the public and is hosts to many community events. Pictured, Skip McCullough, left, Meadowbrook Nursery, and Ginny Perkins, Columbiana Community Foundation.
