Truss Bridge closure

Echo Dell Road will be closed at the Truss Bridge over Little Beaver Creek in State Park from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today for guardrail repair. The park can be accessed from each side of the bridge.

Gardens at Hippley Village

The Columbiana Women’s Club (CWC) will host “A Visit to The Gardens at Hippley Village” during the next 2025 Garden Events session at noon Wednesday, July 16. John Hippley will lead a tour of The Gardens at Hippley Village and discuss its role in promoting the art, enjoyment and knowledge of horticulture. Visitors will explore the Train Garden, Potting Shed, Watershed, Pick-up Truck Garden, The Ivy House plus the garden surrounding the Tudor building. Smucker House volunteers

The Smucker House -Salem Women’s Federation of Clubs of Salem, located at 271 S. Broadway Ave., needs volunteers to help in its pollinator garden. Private message the group on Facebook if interested in volunteering. The organization is also looking for a group of young volunteers to help with spreading mulch and joining gardening efforts. Young volunteers interested in landscaping and gardening are encouraged to participate.

CWC members social

The Columbiana Women’s Club is hosting a social for registered members at noon July 7 at its clubhouse, 121 N. Main St. A light lunch will be served and members will join the club’s directors for a CWD update. RSVPs are required by July 1 at 330-482-2832.
